(Montgomery, AL) -- Officials at Montgomery Motor Speedway and Rev-Oil Pro Cup Series are proud to announce that the historic series will return to Montgomery for the the first time since 2006. The event, scheduled for July 27, 2013 is slated for 250 laps around the Alabama half-mile.

The Rev-Oil Pro Cup Series (formerly known as the Hooter's Pro Cup Series) has visited Montgomery four times dating back to 2000. Bobby Gill won the first two races, with Steve Christian and Shane Huffman winning the last two appearances for the series at MMS.

"We're looking forward to betting back to Montgomery." said series President, Jack McNelly, "I'm excited about expanding the footprint of the series and getting back to some of the track that has made Rev-Oil Pro Cup what it is today. Our series is continuing to grow with new competitors from new states joining the roster, and adding an event in Alabama, especially at a historic track like Montgomery Motor Speedway, will only continue to build upon the series growth."

The announcement of the Montgomery race fills the remaining gaps in the Rev-Oil Pro Cup Series schedule. The series will compete 14 times in 2013, at ten different race tracks, in five different states.

"All of us at Montgomery Motor Speedway are very excited to have a Rev-Oil Pro Cup event at MMS in 2013." stated General Manager of Montgomery Motor Speedway, Paul Boswell. "It means a lot to us to have a great series like this on-board. I have no doubt the fans at MMS will get a great show with this series. It is a very historic series, and is the midst of a huge growth period. I'm really looking forward to it."

Local divisions that will be racing with the Rev-Oil Pro Cup Series event are to be determined.
