Bring Your Portable FM Radio to the Track and Hear ALL of the Action!
Tune your radios to 94.1FM from anywhere on track property to hear our Public Address System
(Montgomery, AL) – Montgomery Motor Speedway continues to bring forth exciting new technology and features to the fans and competitors alike. Now, starting with the first open practice on March 2, 2013 and continuing for each and every practice and race date through the entire 2013 season, fans and teams will be able to tune their portable or car radios to 94.1FM and hear our announcements on the Public Address System.
“We know that our PA system has needed an overhaul for quite some time. Our speaker system can not be heard any time there are cars on the track, and from the pit area it's almost impossible to hear any announcements even during quiet times.” said track General Manager, Paul Boswell,”A complete overhaul of the PA system is something that right now is not doable in our current budget, so this is a fairly cost-effective way we can help our fans and teams hear what it going on.”
The speedway has invested in a low power FM transmitter that is only powerful enough to transmit within the immediate area of the speedway, up to a few hundred yards from the Press Box. This means that fans anywhere on the track property can use a portable radio to hear all of the action.
“You will be able to bring headphones and plug into your radios and hear the announcements with no problem even when there are 20+ cars flying by at 100mph.” continued Boswell, “We are pretty excited about it, and feel like it will make a good addition to the fun experience for our fans.
Montgomery Motor Speedway has an open practice session for all divisions scheduled Saturday, March 2 and again on Saturday, March 9 from 12:00pm until 5:00pm. Admission to the grandstands is FREE, although the concession stands will NOT be open. Pit admission for these practices is just $15.00/person, and there is no additional charge beyond pit passes for teams to bring their race cars to test.
