NASCAR Nationwide Series regular and former Snowball Derby winner Johanna Long has announced that she will be competing in Saturday's Southern Super Series 125 presented by ARbodies at Alabama's Montgomery Motor Speedway. Long, of Pensacola, FL, has never competed at Montgomery in her career.
Long joins an impressive list of talent looking to capture the checkers on Saturday night.
Ross Kenseth, son of former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, Matt Kenseth, will be on hand trying to capture his first Southern Super Series victory.
John-Hunter Nemecheck, son of NASCAR driver Joe Nemecheck will be competing as well. John-Hunter is coming off of a second place run last weekend at Mobile International Speedway.
Series regulars scheduled to race include all of the top ten in the points standings: Bubba Pollard, Daniel Hemric, Augie Grill, Nemecheck, Stephen Nasse, Donnie Wilson, Hunter Robbins, TJ Reaid, and Spencer Davis.
Auburn University graduate, DJ VanderLey is also on the entry list, along with Mason Massey, Dillon Oliver, Allen Karnes, and Chet Morrison.
Along with the Southern Super Series will be local division racing action including the new Open Sportsman division, Street Stock, and Buzz divisions.
Action gets underway Friday afternoon with an open practice session from 4pm-dark.
Saturday, the pit gates open at 11:00am, with Southern Super Series practice from 2:00pm until 3:45pm, followed by local division practices. Grandstand gates open at 5:00pm, Southern Super Series qualifying at 5:30pm, and racing starts at 7:00pm.
